About this course

The ability to understand and assess the impact of public policy on industry and society – as well as diverse issues such as digitisation and technological change, the development of market economies, social inequality, and Brexit – is key in business.

Our BA Business Economics course gives you the knowledge to understand these complex issues and make better business decisions, giving you skills that are attractive to a range of employers across both public and private sectors.

We have links with major international businesses so you can further enhance your employability through real industry experience on placement with the likes of Bosch, BMW, Siemens and Disney, or spend a year with the Government Economic Service or the Office for National Statistics.

In your final year, you’ll also have the chance to take an internship (that’s in addition to the extra option of studying abroad or spending a year on placement in industry).

This degree shares a common first year with our BSc Economics programme so you can choose to switch direction in the second year if you develop a particular area of interest.
